By Craig Hubert | If you read our post about music at Art Basel Miami, you know that Rick Ross is in town. The “bawse” took a little detour on his way to the club for last night’s show at the Fillmore and stopped at the Jack Shainman Gallery booth, accompanied by CEO of Warner Music Group Lyor Cohen, and purchased a photograph by Richard Mosse titled “Love is the Drug.” Mosse, a 32-year-old native of Ireland and current New York resident, is known for his stunning series of images shot in the Congo, using a custom-built large format camera and infrared color film. Mosse, who will represent Ireland at next year’s Venice Biennale, has also shot photographs in Iran, Pakistan, Haiti, and the former Yugoslavia. No word yet on whether Ross, who was nominated for a Grammy Award last night, plans on buying any more art while in Miami. In case Ross is reading, we have a suggestion on where he should hang his newest purchase – right above his $24,000 gold toilet, a work of art unto itself.
