PPR’s Christopher Kane Deal, a Financial Look

After much speculation, it’s finally official: PPR has taken a majority stake in the Christopher Kane brand. The deal gives the luxury conglomerate 51 percent ownership of the London label, which launched with womenswear after the designer’s graduation from Central Saint Martins in 2006. In the years since, the Scottish designer has expanded his brand to include menswear, shoes, and accessories, and editors have eaten up every bit, from his iridescent liquid-filled plastic handbags to his iconic gorilla-print T-shirts.

At PPR, the 30-year-old designer joins a roster that includes fellow UK brands Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, as well as Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta.

Saint Laurent Taps Sky Ferreira for Pre-Fall 2013

Hedi Slimane leaked a lookbook for his pre-fall 2013 Saint Laurent collection at, and just like his first outing at the storied French house, it’s full of darkly inflected rock ‘n’ roll vibes.

The stylized black-and-white photos, shot by Slimane himself, star singer-slash-model Sky Ferreira rocking the season’s best with notable heavy cat eyes. Though it’s difficult to make out the details, it’s immediately clear that the collection is all Slimane. Along with the designer’s signature tailoring, the 19-look collection is filled with shiny studded leather, see-through lace or sequin tops, and super-slim pants — all in black, of course — with sheer details and bits of bare skin amping up the sex appeal.
