The fall/winter 2013 show season is just past the halfway mark, and emergent ready-to-wear trends have been well-documented from New York and London’s respective runways. But, what of the season’s accessories? Top Five Looks from Berlin Fashion Week
Berlin’s burgeoning Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this week veered (surprisingly) toward the sophisticated and refined — even ladylike. But worry not, the city’s reputation for cutting-edge irreverence shone through as well. Here, ARTINFO picks our five savviest fall ‘13 looks… (more…)
Milan Fall/Winter 2013 Menswear: Prada, Bottega Veneta, and Missoni
Milan saw a busy weekend of men’s shows, spanning the traditional (Burberry Prorsum’s “I Heart Classic” show) to the decadent (Roberto Cavalli). Yet there were three standouts worth highlighting: Bottega Veneta, Prada, and Missoni.
On Our Radar: Floor-Scraping Sheer for Spring/Summer 2013
Spring’s romance needn’t be represented by saturated sunflowers or babydoll sweetness, nor should it be. Take for example one of the season’s emergent, and in turn steeliest and most attractive trends: diaphanous, floor-length skirts and dresses in cooled-off neutral colors.
Eye on the Runway: Facetasm Spring 2013 at Tokyo Fashion Week

Facetasm’s Hiromichi Ochiai definitely has a signature look: Layers, and lots of them. Ochiai sent models down the runway yesterday in piles of satiny deconstructed bombers, cropped mini-tanks, sheer leggings, and pants with vented knees. Plaid chiffon shirts and, in some cases, what looked like backwards aprons, hung from waists and down the backs of thighs. Mohawk-pompadour hybrid hairstyles and bold red lips finished off the looks. (more…)

The latest batch of runway reviews are in, and they’re rife with Nirvana references, shout-outs to Courtney Love, and paragraphs dedicated to the return of plaid and the question of whether or not we should be tying flannels around our waists next spring. But grunge wasn’t the only ’90s trend we spotted on the catwalks. We rounded up five forgotten Clinton-era looks that popped up this fashion month, from Rachel Zoe’s modern spin on fanny packs to Phillip Lim’s take on overalls. (more…)
Eye on the Runway: Gucci Spring 2013
Gucci’s spring 2013 collection was all about jewel tones. The label’s creative director, Frida Giannini, sent models down the runway in sharply tailored looks done up in super-saturated shades of ruby, sapphire, aquamarine, and peridot. Designs were topped off with architectural ruffles and necklines were adorned with clusters of plastic gemstones, while slender-heeled ankle-strap shoes and python bags provided the final flourishes.
Need a Custom-Made Sequined Prada Halter Dress? Carey Mulligan is Selling the One She Wore to the Met Ball
As the co-chair of this year’s Costume Institute Gala, Carey Mulligan was somewhat obliged to wear Prada, the subject of the 2012 exhibition. But no one was expecting the fashion house to outfit the actress in a halter that shimmered in thousands of silver and gold scales.
