An Equipment blouse has been an absolute essential in every fashion-girl’s arsenal ever since the resurrected brand stormed stateside in early 2010. In just two years, they’ve colonized the style blogs and magazines, their collars peaking out from under sweaters or unbuttoned devil-may-care down to there. Now New York has a temple to the silky French staples — the brand’s first standalone store, which opened in Soho this Friday.
The eagerly awaited boutique offers the brand’s full line of shirts in all their Crayola-colored glory, arranged in a sleek gallery-like setting. If button-ups aren’t your thing, you still might find something to love at the Wooster Street space; the store also offers silk pajamas and cashmere sweaters (a perfect pick for layering). With an L.A. outpost on the way, plus new lines coming soon, expect Equipment to get even more popular — as if that were possible.
