In the church of Rad Hourani, clothing is free from seasonal restraints or gender bias — so don’t expect the designer to adhere to the fashion calendar. While other labels are hosting pre-fall presentations, the former stylist teamed up with photographer Zoe Duchesne to shoot his new limited edition Pre-Rad Unisex Collection for RAD by Rad Hourani, modeling the line himself.
In the dreamy black-and-white images, Hourani travels the parks and rooftops of Paris, wearing the pared-down jackets, tunics, and tanks that have won him converts among shoppers with an ascetic sensibility. The new season’s look is everything we’ve come to expect from the line: clean, lean, and mostly black — fitting add-ons to an austere uniform of convertible jackets, streamlined tunics, and slim trousers.
The Pre-Rad collection is available exclusively at the Rad Hourani Unisex Gallery in Paris, which the designer opened in November to celebrate the label’s fifth anniversary. Designed by Hourani, the space is as convertible as the clothing he creates. Along with one-of-a-kind pieces and garments directly from the runway, the space displays original art work. The photographs from Hourani’s collaboration with Duchesne will be on display through January 11, 2013.
