With their badgirl mix of bodycon and leather, Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs make some of the sexiest clothes in the biz. And now they’re stepping into the boudoir with an unlikely partner: Playboy.
The duo created an edgy leather harness bra for the recently relaunched PlayboyStore.com, the first in a series of fashion-forward collaborations for the lad mag. It’s part of an effort to shake the magazine’s silicone-and-peroxide image in favor of a more sophisticated sex appeal, a move that includes collaborations with curator Neville Wakefield and downtown fashion maven Jenne Lombardo. It was this new direction that solidified the partnership between the label and the magazine.
“Partnering with Playboy presented an opportunity for us to channel Cushnie et Ochs [seductively] feminine aesthetic with Playboy’s signature playful sensuality,” the designers said in a press release.
With a price tag to match its designer pedigree, the $695 bra will set buyers back the equivalent of about 10 years worth of paper Playmates.
