French artist Fabrice Hyber turned 330 pounds of Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic red lipstick, Rouge Pur Couture No1, into a sculpture titled “1M3 de Beauté,” or “One Cubic Meter of Beauty.” “It needed to be a red that is very vivid, very present,” Hyber told WWD of his color choice for the piece, which is currently on display at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. “Giving another scale, one sees the material differently.” The lipstick definitely looks different, but we’re willing to bet at least one museum-goer has used that sculpture to give her makeup a little midday touch-up.
