Can We Please Find One of These Eight-Room, 420 Sq-Ft Apartments on Craigslist?

GIZMODO – The Tiny Transforming Apartment That Packs Eight Rooms into 350 Square Feet from Gizmodo on Vimeo.

Given five and a half minutes, most urban dwellers probably can’t say a whole lot about their apartments or houses, unless you start including the anecdotes behind those coasters from Amsterdam or that kooky refrigerator magnet from Cancun. But for founder Graham Hill, his 420-square-foot Manhattan pad is a veritable cabinet of curiosities, in which he has squeezed EIGHT rooms into a tiny space that many New Yorkers would just consider a decently sized living room and leave it at that. Hill calls his humble abode the “Life Edited” apartment, a prototypical product of his campaign to counter environmental destruction through reduced consumerism. What’s more, the design for these digs was essentially crowd-sourced, pulling ideas from numerous suggestions (but mostly from the work of two Romanian architecture students, as Hill explains.) Watch Hill unpack beds, guest rooms, at-home theaters, massive Judy Chicago dinner party-sized tables and more in the video above. [Gizmodo]
