Covering the crossroads of art and culture

I write on art and politics — on culture (defined as “the total of the inherited ideas, beliefs, values, and knowledge, which constitute the shared bases of social action.”) For BLOUIN ARTINFO, I explore the dialogues between art and culture: the wars they fight and the dances they dance together. I have written for Art & Auction for half my life, as well as for (where I was a columnist from 2010-2012), the International Herald Tribune, the Wall Street Journal, the New Republic, Vogue, Town & Country, Artnews, Artnet, and more.
