Yesterday, Art Basel Miami announced the galleries participating in this year’s fair, the 15th edition of the event.

There will be 269 in galleries in all, with 29 countries and 5 continents represented. 98 percent of the 267 galleries that participated last year reapplied this year. There are 21 galleries participating for the first time — 12 from North and South America, 6 from Europe, and 3 from Asia.

As usual, the fair is broken down into several sections. The largest, the “Galleries” section, will feature 193 exhibitors. “Survey,” now in its third year, will present 14 curated presentations of work from before 2000. “Nova,” on the other hand, will focus on newer galleries and up-and-coming artists, with 35 exhibitors. “Edition” will bring together 11 galleries who focus on print-based work. Finally, the “Positions” sector, with 16 solo booths, will provide a platform for individual artists to showcase a major project.

This year’s fair will again be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where it has been held every year since the fair was founded in 2001.
