Instagrams of the Art World: Istanbul Biennial, HBD Beyoncé, and More

— Over at the Istanbul Biennial, Klaus Biesenbach (klausbiesenbach) encountered Andrew Yang’s sound installation, a work clearly wrought with cymbal-ism (b-dum-chhhh!). (Sorry, but we had to.)

— Meanwhile in Istanbul, Rebecca Taylor (rebeccataylorny) swung by Leon Trotsky’s former residence — which was recently put up for sale.

— Kim Drew (museummammy) checked out Duane Hanson’s eerily lifelike “House Painter I,” 1984/1988, at Serpentine Gallery.

— Krysta Eder (krystaeder) helped hang one of Katsu’s drone paintings at The Hole, and gleefully at that.

— JR (jr) caught a well-timed passerby in Felice Varini’s painting at La Villette in Paris.

— The Brooklyn Museum’s (brooklynmuseum) conservation lab recently received this large traditional Korean hat (read all about it — and see pictures of the rad case it came in — here).

— Alex Da Corte (alexdacorte) found a cardboard kitten mid-surrender. (You should also probably know that a commenter saw fit to add: “Kind of like charlotte’s cardboard baby. #satc”)

— And finally this week, Third Eye (hellothirdeye) wished Beyoncé a happy birthday in an arty and appropriate fashion.
