WHAT: “Everybody Street” debuts in Brooklyn
WHERE: Nitehawk Cinema, 136 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn
WHEN: 9:30 pm
If you are a lover of the tradition of contemporary street photography, then tonight is a treat for you, with the debut of the Cheryl Dunn-directed feature “Everybody Street” at Williamsburg’s boutique Nitehawk moviehouse. Three years in the making, the feature promises to track the career of New York street photography greats via archival footage and a jazzy collage style, celebrating figures including Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Jill Freedman, Bruce Gilden, Joel Meyerowitz, Rebecca Lepkoff, Mary Ellen Mark, Jeff Mermelstein, Clayton Patterson, Ricky Powell, Jamel Shabazz, Martha Cooper, and Boogie. Tonight’s screening also features a Q&A between the director and products and art critic Carlo McCormick. It’s sold out — but there are a few more showings, plus new dates on November 22-26.
