On Friday, in the midst of its annual New York City conference, the Creative Time Summit, non-profit Creative Time announced that it has partnered with Public Art Agency Sweden, with whom it will co-present its first summit outside New York, in Stockholm, in the fall of 2014.
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Public Art Agency Sweden to bring the Summit to Stockholm, where so many artists are engaged with issues of public import,” Creative Time artistic director and president Anne Pasternak said in a statement. “Together, we will create a Summit that is certain to bring to light inspiring and groundbreaking artistic practices, engaging some of the critical global political and social issues of our times.”
The Creative Time Summit launched in New York City in 2009. Attendance in 2012 topped 1,000 people, while countless others watch the live webcast.
“Public Art Agency Sweden and Creative Time share a commitment to expanding the ways that art can address public issues as well as public space,” Public Art Agency Sweden director Magdalena Malm said in a statement. Together, we will make a superb team, an international collaboration that will result in a conference that explores the relationship of art to public life in our time.”
