The Moving Image, Armory Week’s Video Art Fair, Announces 2013 Exhibitors

Today the Moving Image art fair, which will take over Chelsea’s Tunnel warehouse space for the third year during Armory Week next month — following its recent expansion to London — announced the roster of exhibitors participating in this year’s edition of the film and video art fair. This year’s fair will feature works by 28 artists (down from 31 last year) presented by 26 galleries, non-profits, museums, and one special presentation by Moving Image of work by Greta Alfaro.

The fair lineup continues to be dominated by New York galleries, including co-founder Edward Winkleman‘s eponymous art space, which is house in the Tunnel building and will present works by Janet Biggs and Cathy Begien, and Postmasters, which will present work by two artist duos, Eva and Franco Mattes, and Jennifer and Kevin McCoy. Notable newcomers include El Museo del Barrio, which will show work by Edin Vélez, and China’s ShanghART Gallery, presenting a video by Tang Maohong.

The fair, which is free and features two long rows of monitors lining the walls of the Tunnel, with larger installations at the space’s east end — and, in our opinion, Armory Week’s best tote bags — runs March 7-10.
