Michael Jordan, a successful basketball player and somewhat less successful baseball player of whom you may have heard, will be throwing himself an extravagant 50th birthday party at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) during the National Basketball Association’s All-Star Weekend — like Armory Week, but for basketball — which will be held in the Texan metropolis February 15-17.

The rental, which cost Jordan a paltry $100,000 donation, according to CultureMap Houston, is just the first of many extravagances to which the greatest basketball player ever is treating himself and his 300 guests. In addition to a private dinner for 100, another 200 guests will join the longtime Chicago Bulls star for a concert at the MFAH.
Though it’s unclear whether the band performing will take requests, we’re fairly certain they’ll indulge in at least one rendition of “I Believe I Can Fly,” the rousing R. Kelly song from the Jordan-Bugs Bunny basketball movie “Space Jam.”

By Seal did you mean R.Kelly?
The song was by R. Kelly, not Seal…..
Oh man, this is embarrassing. We mixed up “I Believe I Can Fly” and “Fly Like an Eagle.” Too many great songs on that soundtrack (Monstars, anyone?). Thanks for pointing out the error, which has been fixed.
