Terence Koh to Premiere Opera at Thaddaeus Ropac’s Complex on Paris’s Outskirts

Marina Abramovic won’t be the only performance artist with her own opera much longer. Sean Kelly stable-mate Terence Koh is rumored be developing an opera to premiere in the performance space of Thaddaeus Ropac‘s massive new complex on the outskirts of Paris in collaboration with composers from the nearby Philharmonie de Paris, the Art Newspaper reports.

Other rumored performance projects for Ropac’s Pantin location include the recreation of Gilbert & George‘s “living sculptures,” and a new work by Erwin Wurm. As far as Koh’s opera is concerned, it’s too soon to tell what it will be about, but we imagine the set and costume design will be sparse and almost entirely white.
