It’s been a while since  a major New York City museum joined Tumblr — one of the most recent was the Whitney Museum, back in April — but we now have another addendum to our list of art institutions on the micro-blogging network: On Friday MoMA PS1 started tumbling.

Posting a link to its Tumblr page on Facebook, the Long Island City contemporary art center wrote: “Our new year’s resolution: get tumblin’. So, we did!”

To date their Tumblr features a mix of installation views, performance pictures, videos, artist quotations, artworks from past exhibitions, and the above archival image of the schoolhouse circa 1920, when it still sported a handsome clock tower — which was subsequently razed in 1964.
