New York Editions and Art Book Fair, Delayed By Sandy, Returns Next Month

After postponing its fifteenth edition in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the Editions | Artists’ Book Fair has announced new dates. The event, which features approximately 60 galleries, will run from January 24 to 27 at a new location, the Altman Building at 135 West 18th Street. The fair was previously scheduled to take place at Dia‘s former home at 548 22nd Street, a block hit hard by the storm.

Exhibitors include Fulton Ryder, Benefit Print Project, and Lower East Side Print Shop of New York, Galerie Ernst Hilger of Vienna, and artKitchen of Amsterdam, among others. The real draw for us here at ARTINFO is the promise of “Invisible Corps,” a twist on the popular Surrealist drawing game “Exquisite Corps.” Artists Matthew Brannon, Ernesto Caivano, Chie Fueki, Kanishka Raja, Fred Tomaselli, and Wendy White will all work independently throughout the day towards a final collaboration that will be printed and sold on site.
