On Saturday, November 17, Klaus Biesenbach, along with The Standard and Opening Ceremony, are taking their plight to the Top of the Standard for “A Sandy Relief Effort,” a benefit fundraiser for Rockaway Relief. There’s a $30 minimum donation at the door and all of the proceeds will go to Rockaway Relief. What better way to spend a Saturday night out than to do it for a good cause?
In the past few weeks since Hurricane Sandy ravaged the Rockaways, the MoMA PS1 director and MoMA chief curator at large has been rallying his network — which includes bold-name creatives like James Franco, Marina Abramovic, and Lady Gaga — to head out there each weekend to bring food and supplies and to help clean up the destruction. The cause is close to Biesenbach, who has a home there.
Details for tomorrow night’s party are below:
The Top of the Standard, 442 West 13th Street
