Several Canadian sources have reported news of seven children falling ill and fainting within minutes of one another at the Art Gallery of Ontario, this morning. They have been taken to hospital. While a number of the 11 and 12 year-olds fainted, others complained of stomach pain, said Toronto Fire Capt. David Eckerman, who believes they’re all from the same school group.
The children were removed from the affected area and taken to the AGO’s medical room until EMS arrived, he said. The Hazmat team tested the air and couldn’t find any noxious substances.
“There was a medical emergency, and we closed part of the gallery as a precaution,” the AGO tweeted from their account. “Currently checking things out; we’ll have updates soon.”
