Creative Time Launches Artist-Written News Magazine

A new online magazine from the nonprofit Creative Time wants to give artists a forum to report and comment on the news of the day. This Thursday, October 11, “Creative Time Reports” launches with its general-interest news service comprised of stories written by poets, filmmakers, sculptors, and other artists from around the world.

“We believe that artists’ voices should be central to the civic discourse,” said the site’s editor, Marisa Mazria Katz. The project is part of the organization’s new global initiatives department, and Katz has traveled to Dubai, Marrakesh, Hungary, Tunisia, Nairobi, and beyond, to meet with potential contributors.

U.S.-based artists are also invited to participate, and Katz encourages anyone with a story to pitch her or another member of the Creative Time Reports team.
