If there’s one new blog to follow today, it’s probably Abstruckt, which features close-up photos of the sides of trucks. The zoomed-in, closely cropped photos of the car’s glossy surfaces resemble modernist abstraction, like post-industrial Ellsworth Kelly paintings.
The only hints that these photos aren’t painted canvases or works of Russian Constructivist graphic design are the bolts and labels that interrupt the picture plane. Personally, I’ve always been struck at how much those giant Target trucks, with their alternating circular logos, look like they could hang in a museum. Now I know I’m not alone. [Abstruckt]
