The Polish-American street artist and crochet wizard Agata Olek — last seen wrapping a Bottero cat sculpture in Barcelona on her birthday — is in her hometown of Katowice in southern Poland preparing for the Katowice Street Art Festival, where she’s wrapped two excavators in her distinctive high-contrast pink and purple camouflage patterns.
The festival, which opens tomorrow and continues through April 29. It features new outdoor murals by stars of the international street art circuit like M-City, Ludo, Escif, and Roa, alongside the hometown heroine’s massive installation in front of the city’s iconic UFO-shaped arena, Spodek.
