The premise of the new Tumblr “Nipples at the Met” is self-explanatory: The site collects extreme close-up pictures of every nipple on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The first nipples poked up on the site over a month ago, and already the photos posted on the site number in the hundreds, spanning every style and medium imaginable.
Unfortunately the nipples are never attributed, so followers won’t be able to tell whether the pointy (bronze?) nipple at left belongs to a Renaissance sculpture, a Roman antiquity, or a Modern nude. [ArtFagCity]
