Titled after her 2010 MoMA retrospective, “Marina Abramovic The Artist is Present” is a documentary produced by HBO that follows the performance artist in the year leading up to the major exhibition. Now, the doc will be making its premiere at the iconic Sundance Film Festival, alongside some great art-world company.
The film has its first showing tonight at the Temple Theatre in Park City at 9:00 p.m., followed by daily showings through Thursday the 26th. “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry,” a film documenting the dissident Chinese artist’s recent life and work by Alison Klayman, will also be premiering at the festival.
