IN THE AIR has heard from trusted informants that the gallivanting art star William Powhida (actually, his art-project doppelganger) was spotted last night at a skeezy Chelsea strip joint — located in the back of Ramis Barquet Gallery. The episode followed Powhida’s bombastic opening at Marlborough last Wednesday, which saw the cartoonish bad boy persona overturn a bucket of paint and boss around his hangers-on.
As the first of his planned misadventures, the fake Powhida attended Myla Delbasio’s “Young Money” performance during the Chelsea Art Walk, taking the seat of honor as the young lady proceeded to give him a lap dance as audience members amid pools of spilled champagne and dollar bills looked on. (The guy pictured here is not Powhida, real or fake, but another lap-dancee.)
IN THE AIR will be following fake Powhida’s doings, so stay tuned.
