A combination of the fickleness (or fecklessness) of art buyers will confound anyone attempting a prediction. If only the art market had an ETF Index equivalent from the real stock market we’d have an easier time of it. Betting on any one part of the art market is suicidal, but going long on the entire industry is a sure bet. Troubled times or not. There must be some way to make money on other people’s inane art purchases…
